Cattle Ranchers or the BLM?

Land Management Done Right
ABC News is reporting a peaceful end to the face-off between Cliven Bundy and people calling themselves the "Bureau of Land Management".  In response to Bundy's refusal to pay cattle grazing fees ABC states:
The federal government had countered that Bundy "owes the American people in excess of $1 million " in unpaid grazing fees and "refuses to abide by the law of land"...
ABC or the feds will not provide details as to what "American people" means or where we can locate the "law of land".

If by "American people" they refer to the people who live in the United States then Bundy owes each person less than one cent.  Are you worked up because a cattle rancher in Nevada did not pay you 1/3 of a penny?

Even if you are keen on collecting that penny from Bundy I ask what is the origin of the obligation that this rancher has to you?  Do you have a contract signed by you and Bundy agreeing to terms? Without a contract no sane jury would rule in your favor and demand that he pay you that penny.

Of course the BLM is justifying their harsh collection tactics by propagandizing the public that these ranchers are ripping you off for millions.  The reality is that cattle ranchers provide people with readily available, cost-effective food.

What does the BLM provide you with?
